Aaron + Samantha

November 7th, 2017

Aaron and Samantha met while working at a car dealership. However, they had been working at the same dealership for months before they ever met. When fate finally stepped in and the couple met the rest is history! Their world revolves around two rescue Staffordshire Terriers who they will be leaving in January for a romantic getaway in Paris. Through the past five months the couple has changed jobs, bought a house, and planned a wedding! They are looking forward to relaxing through the holidays and heading off on their honeymoon.

With the natural light abundant family and friends gathered in the white, exposed brick ceremony room. Family that hadn’t seen each other in years embraced in this happy occasion, catching up with laughter while waiting for the ceremony to begin. With sweet personal vows exchanged the guests cheered and the couple kissed.

The reception began with a delicious barbecue dinner followed by a walk down memory lane as family and friends made toasts to the new marriage. Cake and dancing followed with energy and excitement until bubbles filled the air for a beautiful get away.

Those amazing flowers are made from wood and dried greenery! Amazing.

Family Session at Pease Park

with the Hunter Family and assisted by Stacy Aikens

by Austin Portrait Photographer Evan & Marin Photography

The Hunter family knew the moment I showed them this amazing tree at Pease Park that this was the place for their family portrait session. The hard part was setting a date for the shoot. If I understood it correctly their oldest son was returning home from a two year mission in Brazil right before their family vacation to Canada. Then once they got home from their vacation their next son was off to Germany to serve his mission. Sometime after their oldest son returned and before their next son left we were able to squeeze in this fun session.

It might have been in the heat of the summer but with Stacey’s (my assistant on this shoot) cooler of wet rags and water we survived! As I danced about trying to get some genuine smiles out of the guys, teenagers are much harder to impress then children, I photographed their session.

Engagement Session at Hubert C. Schroeter Park

with Ann-Marie and John

by Austin wedding Photographer Evan & Marin Photography

We went back and forth the weeks before this session to come up with the perfect location. The University of Texas campus (where the two graduated) was a close second, but with the thought of a busy beginning-of-the-semester campus Ann-Marie and John decided on their neighborhood park. The same park they take their dog, MJ, on walks almost daily.

I thought it was a perfect idea. Not to mention the beautiful greenery, wildflowers, and sunset lighting. It only made the session more special when they decided to take their eleven year old dog MJ on the shoot with us. We joked about her excellent modeling skills as she turned right to my camera and almost smiled for many shots.

We enjoyed the reprieve in 100+ degree weather as we soaked up the golden light. While taking advantage of some of the older oak trees we began the shoot. After a few candid dancing shots under the old oak tree we started walking through the trails. Almost like any other Friday night for the couple. Almost, if you can look past the crazy lady following them around with a camera. We ended the shoot sitting in the grass with the sun setting behind and a cool breeze. I couldn’t have pictured it any better in my head.

It was so fun to be back at Oak Valley Vineyards for this beautiful summer wedding! This was our first wedding where we incorporated external lights on stands. I love the way the reception turned out with the extra lights.

Bluebonnet 2017

March 21st, 2017

The bonnets are blue and they are blooming! I took my little one out to some of our favorite fields and I did my best to capture her personality among the fields of blue.
